Day 160 – “There’s No Point in Dreaming a Dream. I’m Just Trying to Survive.”

So today, we’re fasting from the thought that says, "There’s no point in dreaming a dream. I’m just trying to survive."

LET’S CHANGE IT TODAY

1. Dreaming is God’s idea. He would never give dreams to us if He wasn’t planning to bring them to pass. Acts 2:17 says, ". . . young men will see visions, and old men will dream dreams." Why does He say, "old men"? Because we are to never stop dreaming!

2. The Holy Spirit is the author of dreams. (Acts 2:17) So dreams that are from God must line up with the Word of God. When we find a BIG promise in God’s Word, we are giving God a dream to work with.

3. Dreaming BIG is what enables God to DO BIG in your life. Ephesians 3:20 (AMP) says that He is able to do infinitely beyond our highest hopes or dreams!

4. Your heart is a dream manufacturing center! Habakkuk 2:2 and Proverbs 3:3 tell you to write the vision on the table of your heart, so the one who reads it may run with it. And God looks on what’s written on your heart.

5. Don’t limit God to just your needs. Jesus asked Bartimaeus, "What do you WANT me to do for you?" (Mark 10:45–49) Bartimaeus didn’t NEED to see to survive, but it was his dream, and Jesus fulfilled it!

6. Expect God to give you understanding about His visions and dreams. (Daniel 1:17) Ask for wisdom and understanding today!

THINK IT AND SAY IT

I will not settle with just surviving in life. I will receive God’s dreams for my life, and He will bring them to pass. Dreaming big is His idea, and it enables God to do what He longs to do in my life. I will think big, ask big, and dream big. I will fill my heart with God’s promises, which will create God’s dreams for my life, in Jesus’ Name!

Day 159–”I’m Lacking Something.”

Today we’re fasting from the thought that says: "I’m lacking something," or "Something is missing in my life."

It’s truly liberating when you are not waiting for something to complete you or make you happy. Our culture promotes a mind-set that says we are always incomplete.

LET’S CHANGE IT TODAY

1. "You complete me!" the famous line from Jerry McGuire, is ONLY accurate when used toward God. When expected of anyone else, it will leave you disappointed. Jesus really does complete you. (Colossians 2:10) BELIEVE IT.

2. Meet your Prince (even for men!). Jesus is the PRINCE of peace. (Isaiah 9:6) When He comes into your life, He brings PEACE—shalom—meaning that nothing is missing, and nothing is broken.

3. What you already have is the seed for what you don’t have. The widow who had no money to pay her massive debt cried out to the prophet. (2 Kings 4) He asked her, "What do YOU have in YOUR house?" The solution to what you don’t have starts by recognizing what you DO have!

4. Go on a treasure hunt. There is a treasure in you! (Philemon 6) You possess something NOW that God will use to create what you don’t possess. Discover the treasure in you: the Kingdom of God (Luke 17:21), the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:11), faith (2 Timothy 1:5), and so on.

5. Understand true prosperity. (Genesis 39:2) When Joseph was stripped of everything, only then was he called a prosperous man. Why? Because the Lord was with him! True prosperity is the presence of God.

THINK IT AND SAY IT

Jesus completes me; therefore, I am not missing anything in life. I expect any lack to be filled by the God who supplies all my needs. I focus on what I have, which transforms my thinking and transforms me. I have true prosperity—God’s presence with me in every situation and circumstance—in Jesus’ Name!

Day 158 – “I’m Okay with Average.”

Today we’re fasting from the thought that says, “I’m okay with average.”

What? NEVER!

You were meant to soar! The idea that average is acceptable, or that just getting by is enough, needs to be eradicated from our mind-set and the core of our being.

LET’S CHANGE IT TODAY

1. SEE average as your ENEMY. You’ll merely tolerate life and just get by until you decide that mediocrity and the status quo have GOT TO GO. (2 Timothy 2:20–21)

2. You are EXTRAORDINARY! You are not an average, everyday kind of person; you are made in the image of God to create, to build, and to prosper. (Genesis 1:26, Jeremiah 1:5, Jeremiah 29:11)

3. There’s nothing between head and tail. You are the head ONLY. You are above ONLY and not beneath. (Deut. 28:13)

4. Don’t bury; UN-BURY! You have amazing treasures and talents. (Matt. 25:15) Everyone was given talent, but the "average" guy buried his. DON’T BURY the treasure in you. Excavate—by praying in the spirit, prophesying Scriptures, and believing in what you have.

5. Refuse to settle for the way things are.
You have not reached your ceiling or your potential. You have greatness in you.

6. Serve others. When you know there is greatness in you (2 Cor. 4:6, 1 John 4:4), it makes you secure and confident, rather than boastful or arrogant. Then it’s easy to serve others to help make them better.

THINK IT AND SAY IT

I refuse to settle for mediocrity and an average existence. I’m not called to be average in my mind, body, finances, or relationships. I am the head ONLY and not the tail. I call forth the treasure and talents in me to produce and excel. I expect increase and believe I was created for excellence and supernatural achievement, in Jesus’ Name!

Day 157 – “It Just Doesn’t Pay to Do Right or to Serve God.”

Today we’re fasting from the thought that says, “It just doesn’t pay to do right or to serve God."

This pattern of thinking discourages many people from continuing to be faithful, continuing the race, and truly giving of themselves. We see others get ahead who aren’t even serving God, and it can discourage us.

LET’S CHANGE IT TODAY

1. Due season always comes. Galatians 6:7 says, “Don’t grow weary in doing good; IN DUE SEASON YOU SHALL REAP, if you don’t faint." Don’t give up, even when it doesn’t look like it’s coming. It will. Believe it.

2. God pays for your trust and work in Him. Ruth 2:11–12 says, "You will be richly rewarded for forsaking your past and following the Lord."

3. Expect GREAT reward for keeping God’s Word. (Psalm 19:11) Be confident. (Hebrews 10:35) Your labor is not in vain when you are in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 15:58)

4. Discover how to wait on the Lord. Psalm 37:9 says that those who WAIT on the Lord shall inherit the land. It means to silence all other thoughts and to have unswerving expectancy that God will answer and repay.

5. Don’t be discouraged when you don’t see immediate results for doing right, serving God, or sowing the right seed. The stranger that you show kindness to may be a king! Jesus said, "What you do for the least of these, you do unto Me," and He repays. (Proverbs 19:17)

6. Renew your mind to this: "Vengeance is mine; I will repay." (Rom. 12:19) Many have thought that this is referring to judgment; but God is saying this: “I will repay you for the good you have done, even when others have hurt or taken advantage of you.”

THINK IT AND SAY IT

My due season is coming. I will reap from the GOOD seeds I have sown. God rewards us for trusting Him; I will not throw away my confidence when others get ahead. I wait on the Lord and expect a great reward in this life and the life to come. God will repay me. My labor is NOT in vain, in Jesus’ Name!

Day 156 – “I’m Not Smart Enough to Succeed in Today’s Economy.”

Today we’re fasting from the thought that says, “I’m not smart enough to succeed in today’s economy.”

LET’S CHANGE IT TODAY

1. Settle the fact that you have the mind of Christ. (1 Corinthians 2:16) Jesus was and IS the smartest Man in the world. You have His Spirit and His Word. Expect success!

2. Ask God for Wisdom. Proverbs 24:3 says that we BUILD our house by wisdom. Wisdom can build your house, business, or income! James 1:5 says to ask for it, and you will receive it.

3. Refuse to tolerate thoughts of inferiority. The world isn’t smarter than you. You are the temple of the Holy Spirit. You have power, love, and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) Royalty destroys inferiority. (Romans 5:17)

4. Expect God to give you hidden treasures and riches. Isaiah 45:3 says, “And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I am the LORD, which call thee by thy name.”

5. Be success-inside-minded. Refuse to accept the idea of failure or defeat in your life. See yourself as a success, no matter what it looks like. You are the giant in the land, not the grasshopper. (Numbers 13:30)

6. Accept the Bible as your economics textbook. There are about 1600 verses in the Bible that have to do with money. God knew these days would come and gave you the ammunition you need. Use it.

THINK IT AND SAY IT

I reject the idea that I am not smart enough for today’s economy. I have the mind of Christ and refuse to tolerate inferiority. I expect the hidden treasures from God. I receive wisdom today to succeed financially and refuse to accept lack or defeat. I am success-inside-minded, leading to success on the outside as well, in Jesus’ Name!

Day 155 – “God Must Be Rewarding Them and not Me.”

Today we’re fasting/abstaining from/giving up the thought that says: "God must be rewarding them and not me."

LET’S CHANGE IT TODAY

1. God has enough to reward EVERYONE. Psalm 145:16 says that He satisfies the desire of EVERY living thing. His reward for one person doesn’t come at the expense of someone else.

2. SETTLE THIS: God honors His Word above anything. (Psalm 138:2) Cling to His Word, and you will get honored with it.

3. Get your thoughts off THEM, and on HIM. (Hebrews 12:2) When you take your eyes off Him, He can’t finish what you’re believing for. Fix your eyes on Him. He’s the reason that others are blessed, and He’s the reason YOU are blessed!

4. It’s easier to seek Him than you think: Discover His thought on every situation. It’s in His Word. As we think like Him, we will believe like Him. Our faith will soar! REWARDS WILL COME. (Hebrews 11:6)

5. See other people’s promotions or rewards as a PREDICTION of yours. The testimony of what Jesus has done for someone else is the prophesy that He can also do it for you!(Revelation 19:10)

6. You have favor in Christ. It surrounds you from every side! (Psalm 5:12) Expect it.

THINK IT AND SAY IT

God is MY Rewarder. I adopt His thinking regarding each situation, and faith comes. I fix my eyes on Him, and He finishes my faith. Favor surrounds me, promotion surrounds me, and God’s rewards surround me, in Jesus’ Name!

Day 154 – “I’m So Mad at Myself.”

Today we’re fasting from the thought that says, "I’m so mad at myself."

It’s so easy to beat ourselves up when we fail, miss opportunities, or blow it in life.

LET’S CHANGE IT TODAY

1. Agree with God right now: He’s not mad at you; He’s mad about you! Ephesians 3:19 says that His love for you is deeper than anything you have done or failed to do.

2. God is greater than your own heart. (1 John 3:20) Even when your own heart condemns you, God is greater still, and He doesn’t condemn you.

3. Give up self-punishment. We often feel we need to punish ourselves when we blow it. But Jesus took our punishment, so we don’t have to. (Isaiah 53:5)

4. Turn your anger into prayer. Don’t keep it in. Tell God what you are mad at yourself about. Express, don’t repress. Give it to God now.

5. Ask God for a second chance (or third, or fourth, . . .). Perhaps you’re frustrated or mad about a missed opportunity. Ask Him to redeem it and give you another opportunity. Job 19:25 says, "My Redeemer lives . . . ."

6. Look forward, not back.
Forget about the missed opportunities and failures. Look FORWARD to the opportunities and success God will bring. (Philippians 3:13)

THINK IT AND SAY IT

I agree with God! He’s not mad at me, so I’m not mad at me. Jesus took my punishment. I forgive myself. I turn anger into prayer, and I ask God to redeem my situation. I expect Him to open doors to better opportunities, even when I have blown it. God’s love for me goes deeper than my shortcomings and mistakes, in Jesus’ Name!
